Customer service oriented. Determines pest problem and appropriate solution. Responsible for identifying, selecting, mixing, and applying chemical or manual solutions to control pests. Design and carry out an integrated pest control plan. Schedules and completes monthly service route. Grow and manage route through sales and management of current accounts.
Skills Needed:
- Book Keeping- Keep accurate records and scheduling of your route
- Customer Service- Friendly and polite when interacting with customer
- Detail oriented- Follow directions for applying pesticides. Complete scheduled route
- Physical Stamina- Technicians spend hours on their feet, in addition to crouching, crawling, kneeling, and climbing in attics. Work is both indoors and out in all seasons.
Primary Responsibilities.
- Spray chemical solutions, powders, on or near building/ house to eliminate pests.
- Identify pests, ie… rats, termites, snakes, wasps, ants, spiders, mosquitos, bed bugs.
- Set mechanical traps and place bait.
- Remove dead rodents
- Inspect property to ascertain wall and roof porosity and possible sites of pest invasion.
- Utilize appropriate protective gear and equipment during application.
- Power-spray chemicals onto surfaces.
- Operation, maintenance, and accountability of service vehicle, equipment, and chemicals*
- Sell pest control services**
- Collect payments as needed*
Education and Training
- State law requires pest control technicians to pass certification exam + additional training hours to keep license current.
